I admit it, I’m a gym rat.
When I was 16, my after-school hobby was working out, not going to the mall. So I guess it wasn’t a surprise that I should end up wanting to share my love of exercise with others. First I got my MPH in Health Education. Then I started teaching fitness classes when my kickboxing instructor kept doing a particular move that put pressure on the knees in a dangerous way. I knew how to tweak my form to make it right, but did anyone else? I decided right then to get certified and teach my own class. Soon after that came Pilates and weight training, and then, what the heck, I became a personal trainer, too.
"I would highly recommend the Core+More classes. I have never been someone who did a lot of exercise other than cardio, and I wasn’t even sure I would be able to do these classes. But Karen is an awesome teacher who takes the time to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly. She is very motivating and pushes you to achieve your personal best. It is much more personal than a gym. I can tell she puts a lot of thought and planning into the workouts.I can do pushups now on my toes, which is something I would have never imagined I would be able to do! I love that it is a small group of women who face the same challenges and have the same issues that I do. I’m proud of myself for creating a leaner, stronger me, but I don’t think I would have ever gotten this far without Karen!"Lisa D. from Decatur, Georgia
"Just wanted to share how much I’ve enjoyed Karen’s classes. Last November, I signed up for the Monday night class…I’ve been hooked ever since. There is something about signing up for a set class time with only a few people that keeps you motivated. Karen is a great teacher and really wants those in her class to get the most out of their workouts."Jen K. from Decatur, Georgia
"I love Karen’s small class size and personal attention. Combining the circuit training plus pilates makes for a really great, balanced workout. She also keeps things interesting by changing things up almost every class to keep you motivated and having fun. It’s my favorite workout class that I’ve ever taken and I’ve been recommending it to all my friends."Susan C. from Decatur, Georgia
"If you are in the ATL and want a trainer, seriously, try Karen out. I think she’s an excellent trainer. One of the best people I’ve worked out with and her workouts are addicting. She has a small home studio. Karen is serious about her workouts. Unfortunately, we moved away and I can no longer work out with her."Renee J. from Houston, Texas
"Karen has been a joy to work with and very sensitive to my situation, as it can be intimidating to start a fitness routine when you are very overweight. I have been visiting Karen for personal training for over a year now and I never miss my sessions with her! She is my 'reset' button every week to check in and make sure I'm on track for my fitness goals."Casey W. from Decatur, Georgia
"Karen is the best and her classes are great for those of us who aren't so into a traditional gym set up. The group classes are small, hard work, and yet lots of fun. There are all ages, sizes, and strengths and Karen always has modifications to make something harder or easier depending on your level. I've noticed a significant difference in my core strength and found a new spark of motivation to stay active with Karen's warmth and encouragement!"Mary Catherine M. from Atlanta, Georgia
"I can't say enough great things about Karen! Her circuit classes are creative, tough, comprehensive, and wonderful. She is with you every step of the way, guiding you, supporting you, and somehow making the whole workout fun. I love the community she has created, and I see myself working out with her for many years to come. After just a few months I feel stronger all over and have loads more energy."Jennifer G. from Big Timber, Montana
